Residential Attic Fire

At approximately 11:30 pm on Sunday, January 3, 2021, an attic fire was reported by the homeowner in the 3200 block of Star Drive. The occupants were awoken by smoke detectors activating and discovered smoke in the residence. The first arriving fire company reported fire and smoke coming from the roof. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire
within approximately 45 minutes.

The occupants evacuated the house safely. There was one reported injury to a firefighter. CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional 3 hours conducting salvage and overhaul operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
