Residential Duplex Fire

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, a fire was reported by the occupants in the 700 block of Desert View Dr. The occupants advised they saw flames and smoke coming from the interior of the neighboring unit. The first arriving fire company reported the rear of the structure well involved with fire on the second story that had extended into both units.

Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 28 minutes. The
occupants evacuated the duplex safely. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on scene an additional four hours conducting fire investigation and salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
