Residential Duplex Fire

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019, a fire was reported in the 1300 block of Lake Havasu Avenue North. Neighbors reported smoke coming from the vents of the residence. The first arriving fire company reported smoke in the residence with signs of a flashover fire. Five Engine Companies, one Truck Company, Three Battalion Chiefs, and a Division Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 17 minutes. The incident was upgraded to a second alarm fire calling in off duty personnel for additional resources. One occupant was rescued from the residence by the first arriving crew and transported to the hospital. There were no reported injuries to
firefighters. CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional three hours conducting salvage operations.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
