Residential Fire -Update

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, multiple neighbors in the area of Gold Dust Drive and Gold Dust Circle reported a fire. The occupant discovered smoke and fire in the area of their fireplace and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported heavy fire through the roof and defensive fire conditions. Five Engine Companies, one Truck Company, two Battalion Chief’s, and a Division Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 60 minutes. There were no reported injuries. A second alarm was called to bring in resources to handle additional calls in the city during the time of the house fire. This included Desert Hills Fire District who responded to several calls in the city. CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on scene this morning until approximately 9:30 a.m. conducting overhaul operations and managing smoldering hot spots. Fire investigators responded to the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
