Residential House Fire

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020, neighbors in the 2000 block of College Drive reported a fire. The neighbors discovered smoke coming from the back of the residence. The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the side
garage door and heavy fire to the rear of the residence extending into the house. Five Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 13 minutes. The occupants evacuated the house safely.
There were no reported injuries to the occupants or firefighters. CERT responded to the fire with seven personnel to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on scene an additional two and a half hours conducting salvage and overhaul operations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
