Residential House Fire

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020, a fire was reported by the homeowner in the 2100 block of Barranca Dr. The occupants stated that they had a fire in the attic and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the attic with active fire above the living room area. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 17 minutes. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters.

CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Red Cross
responded to assist the occupants of the home and Desert Hills Fire Department moved into the city to provide coverage due to other calls during the incident. Crews remained on the scene an additional 3 hours conducting salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
