On Monday, May 18, 2020 at 5:25PM, Engines 211,221,231,241 and Battalion 2 were dispatched to a confirmed structure fire in the area of North 4th St. and Windsor Ave. Initial calls into the Kingman Regional Dispatch Center indicated that heavy smoke and fire was seen exiting a single family residence. First arriving fire personnel found a fully involved mobile home, initial reports indicated that the structure was vacant. Crews began an aggressive exterior attack; because of high wind conditions, the fire had begun to spread to adjacent structures on the property. KFD Command struck a second alarm activating the Mohave County Mutual Aid pact. Units from
Golden Valley, Pinion Pines and NACFD #1 responded to the scene. As the fire fight continued, fears of other structures in the immediate area were in danger of getting fire pushed into them by the winds, a third alarm was struck to cover the Kingman stations. Additional apparatus arrived from Golden Valley as well as a unit from Yucca Fire District to man the Kingman stations to cover the city; those crews remain available at the time of this release. Kingman Fire Department investigators were called to the scene as the fire appeared suspicious. Units from American Medical Response (AMR) assisted KFD with rehab. Kingman Police Department assisted with traffic control. Units remain on scene, more information will be released Tuesday morning.
