Residential Structure Fire in Lake Havasu City

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, a residential fire was reported in the area of the 1100 block of Yavapai Way. The occupants discovered smoke in the
home and evacuated the residence. The first arriving fire company reported smoke and fire engulfing the entire residence with roof collapse. The fire was declared defensive on
arrival and Firefighters worked to stop the fire from spreading to the neighboring home.

Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, one Medic Unit, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 40 minutes. The occupants
evacuated the house safely. There were no reported injuries to any firefighters. Fire crews found two tortoises and they were safely given to animal control. CERT responded to the
fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional 2 hours conducting salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under
