Route 66 and I-40 Brush Fire

At approximately 8:27am, State Fire from Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management responded to multiple brush fires, supported by Kingman Fire Department, Bureau of Land Management, Golden Valley Fire District, and Northern Arizona Fire District near Route 66 and I-40 West. By about 9:45am, the fires were under control, and crews began mop-up operations. Five fires covering approximately 15 acres were extinguished, causing a temporary closure of Route 66 for about two hours. The road reopened by 10:30am. Special thanks to Bullhead City Fire Department for providing Automatic Aide coverage for the City of Kingman.
