He will also be providing updates from the 2022 Miles of Possibility Conference in Pontiac, Illinois and his recent fact finding Heartland Tour that was sponsored by the City of Tucumcari and the Route 66 Association of Kingman Arizona.

Hinckley is the author of more than twenty books including The Route 66 Encyclopedia, Backroads of Arizona, The Big Book of Car Culture, Murder and Mayhem on the Main Street of America: Tales From Bloody 66 and Ghost Towns of the Southwest. He is also the host of two acclaimed podcasts, Coffee With Jim and Car Talk From The Main Street of America. He has been a featured speaker at the annual Miles of Possibility Conference since 2015. Presentations about the southwest, historic district revitalization, and Route 66 have been made at events and venues internationally. These include the Hackett Auto Museum in Jackson, Michigan, the Missouri Museum of History & Arts in St. Louis, Vakantiebeurs tourism and trade fair in Utrecht, Netherlands, the 2016 European Route 66 Festivial in Ofterdingen, Germany, the Route 66 Festival in Los Angeles, California, and the 2018 European Route 66 Festival in Zlin, Czechia.

Hinckley facilitates receptions, events and programs for a number of tour companies. Current clients include 2 Lane America, England based RouteTrip USA, New Zealand based Gilligan’s Route 66 Tours, Route 66 Germany, and Route 66 Tours based in Australia.

The Route 66 Association of Kingman Arizona was established in 1994 to promote the Kingman area to the international Route 66 community, to revitalize the historic business district, and to help foster development of a sense of community. The monthly meet and greet that is open to the public was conceived as a venue for networking, for fostering awareness about tourism related opportunites in Kingman, and to host receptions for groups such as Route 66 Germany. The association was a sponsor of the 2014 International Route 66 Festival, funds public arts projects, has been acquiring and restoring neon signage, and sponsors Kingman representatives at events such as the Miles of Possibility Conference.
