On Monday, April 25, 2022, at approximately 9:00 AM, several BCFD units were dispatched to the report of a structure fire on the 1900 block of Talc Rd. The first arriving crews reported heavy black smoke and flames coming from a single-story structure. Firefighters quickly performed a 360 evaluation, confirming that all subjects had safely evacuated the structure with the exception of the occupant’s small dog.

Battalion Chief S. Campbell assumed command directing all other incoming units while requesting a second alarm through dispatch for additional manpower to respond. As the blaze spread quickly through the attack space, the structure’s integrity was compromised, causing the roof to collapse, forcing all crews to battle the blaze in a defensive mode.

High winds pushed the fire over a neighbor’s fence line causing damage to their vehicle and personal watercraft that were parked nearby. There were no injuries reported during the incident. A request was made for the Red Cross to assist the homeowners, as the home is uninhabitable. Fire investigators were called to the scene, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.

Responding units included, E711, E721, E731, E751, E761, LD721, M711, Bat 7, FC703, FC705, FI708, FI709, RH719,Fort Mohave E921, Bat 9 and LTA917
