Secure Pets in Hualapai Mountains Vicinity Rabid Fox Alert

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (May 30, 2023) – In response to a confirmed rabid fox and additional aggressive foxes or wild animals in the vicinity of the Hualapai Mountains (I-40, Piñon Pines, Lazy-Y-U), the Mohave County Department of Public Health and local authorities are now issuing a “high-priority alert” to all residents, especially pet owners in the area.

It is of utmost importance to take immediate precautions and ensure the safety of your pets, yourself, and your family. Please stay away from foxes and wild animals in the general area, secure your pets and ensure they are up to date on their rabies vaccinations, seek medical or veterinarian attention if an encounter occurs, and report potential exposures.
