DUI/ CRIMINAL DAMAGE- KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Brian Singer, 20 of Kingman, for felony Criminal Damage, three counts of misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence, and misdemeanor Leaving the Scene of an Accident. On Saturday (7/4) at approximately 2:49 PM, deputies responded to a reported two vehicle collision in the area of Bond St. and Northfield Ave. in Kingman. Deputies contacted the victim who remained on scene, who advised a blue truck had struck his vehicle and then left the scene travelling north
on Bond. The resulting damage to the victim’s vehicle was estimated to be over $1,000.00. A second reporting party called a few minutes later advising that they observed a blue truck that appeared to have just been in an accident pull into a residence in the 3800 block of Ames Ave. Deputies responded to the residence and located a male subject, later identified as Singer, walking away from the residence and involved vehicle. Deputies detained Singer and located two bottles of alcohol, one opened, on his person. Singer initially denied driving the vehicle but later admitted his involvement. Deputies transported Singer to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility where a breath test was conducted, resulting in a Blood Alcohol Content of .139%. Brian Singer was arrested for the above charges and booked into jail without incident.
DEATH INVESTIGATION – KINGMAN
On Sunday (7/5) at approximately 2:31 AM, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the area of McVicar Ave. and Tommie Dr. in reference to a male subject being located in the desert area with a gunshot wound to the head. Upon arrival, deputies observed a male subject, later identified as a fifteen year old juvenile, with a gunshot wound to his head. A handgun was found immediately next to the juvenile with his hand still on the gun. The juvenile was treated on the scene and later flown to a Las Vegas hospital
where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. Detectives responded to the scene and found evidence to support the gunshot wound to be self-inflicted. This investigation is ongoing.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/ RESISTING ARREST- LITTLEFIELD
Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Josue Misael Espinoza-Yanez, 27 of Aurora, CO, and Mexi Mirela Cruz-Lopez, 32 of Aurora, CO. On Sunday (7/5) at approximately 9:30 PM, deputies observed a vehicle travelling southbound on Interstate 15 and observed the vehicle drifted from its designated lane several times. A traffic stop was conducted and deputies made contact with the driver, identified as Cruz- Lopez. While speaking with the driver, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and asked Cruz- Lopez to exit the vehicle. Cruz-Lopez gave consent to search the vehicle and deputies approached the vehicle again to make contact with the male passenger, later identified as Espinoza-Yanez, and have him exit the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a syringe with a clear liquid and more empty syringes. As deputies attempted to detain Espinoza-Yanez, he punched the deputy in the face and fled on foot. As the deputy gave chase to the male subject, the female subject returned to the vehicle and drove off. The deputy returned to his vehicle and pursued the vehicle. Before the deputy caught up to the vehicle, the male subject was picked up by the female driver. Once the vehicle was located, the deputy observed several items being thrown from the vehicle’s passenger window. The vehicle attempted to turn around in the center median at milepost 4, however became disabled in the sand. Both occupants of the vehicle took off on foot and the deputy caught up to the female, who then kicked the deputy in the leg in an attempt to get away. The deputy deployed his taser and the female was successfully detained. The male subject had slid down the highway’s embankment into a wash and was located and held at gunpoint until backup officers arrived. Espinoza- Yanez was detained and both subjects were transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. Josue Misael Yanez was charged with 1st Degree Escape, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Aggravated Assault on an Officer, all felonies. Mexi Mirela Cruz-Lopez was charged with Unlawful Flight from Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Aggravated Assault on an Officer, all felonies.
