MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (March 8, 2022) – The Mohave County Library’s South Mohave Valley Community library location (5744 S. Highway 95) will be relocating to its new facility at 5902 Highway 95, Suite 102 in Fort Mohave. It will be fully operational at the new location effective next Tuesday, March 15, 2022.  This location is nearby the current one, approximately two blocks south, and will have 2,100 interior square feet. The landlords at the library’s current location informed the District in mid-2021 that they were unwilling to renew the library’s lease beyond May, 2022, thus necessitating the library finding a new home.

Several potential sites were evaluated by Mohave County Library and Mohave County Public Works prior to selecting the new location. The interior has been remodeled to create an open floor plan appropriate for library use, and the majority of this work was completed in-house by Mohave County Public Works.

The new facility will continue to offer the same services as before, including a local collection of library materials, seating and tables, public computers and free Wi-Fi. There will also be more available parking for customers at the new facility.  During the move, the prior location will continue to operate, including computers, Internet, and WiFi. It will offer a small local browsing collection of newer library materials, while the main collection and furniture are transferred to the new facility.

The old location will continue to operate through this coming Saturday, March 12. The library is closed  on Mondays. Tuesday is actually the first day to be open each week.
