About 2pm Monday (2/27) afternoon, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received a call for help from a 54-year husband and 50-year-old wife who had become stranded in a 3-foot snow drift while traveling on Flag Mine Road, in the Hualapai Mountains. They were in a RZR UTV and were just unable to get the vehicle back up the roadway without getting stuck again. They had some supplies, warm clothing and lucky to have cellular service to make the call. Search teams were activated and began their way to them – through snow and ice-covered dirt roads. Rescuers ended up walking the last 1,200 feet to the stranded motorists, as the road conditions deteriorated. They were able to hike up to the awaiting vehicles and were transported back to the Command Post. Great job by everyone!
