About 1:30pm Sunday (7/26) afternoon, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a group of motorists (4 females ages 45, 42, 17 and 6 and two male ages 47 and 45) who had become stranded while four-wheeling on the west side of the Black Mountains. They had started from Golden Valley and made their way west, to the Bullhead side of the Black Mountains when a Rubicon broke an axle and got stuck in the sand. The occupants from the Rubicon got into the Avalanche and began to work their way out, when the Avalanche broke a tie-rod.  Search and Rescue was activated and a route and location search began, quickly locating the group and brought them back to safety! They had plenty of supplies, food and water – they were just stranded. One of the group members gave our searchers a big “Thumbs Up”!! Great job by everyone involved!
