Sunken Watercraft in Lake Havasu

On Sunday (5/26), Deputies with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Mesquite Bay in Lake Havasu for a report of a sinking boat. Upon arrival, It was determined that a 1990 20 foot Ultra boat that was occupied by 9 people was traveling in the North Basin on Lake Havasu when it began to take several waves over the bow and began to swamp. The operator was able to maneuver the watercraft to the Mesquite Bay fishing docks where all of the passengers were able to safely exit the watercraft. The boat then sunk completely, and was later recovered by a local salvage company. Weather was a factor in this incident. Alcohol was not a factor.
