SWAT ACTIVATION/ BARRICADED SUBJECT- GOLDEN VALLEY

On Thursday (8/31) at approximately 5:20 PM, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a residence in the 7500 block of Stewart Mountain Road in Golden Valley for a domestic violence incident. The female victim advised that her husband, Thomas Braband, 64 of Golden Valley, had pointed a gun to her head and fired the weapon multiple times inside their residence.

When Deputies arrived, the female victim was removed from the residence and Braband fired one round at responding Deputies. Braband barricaded himself inside the residence, and the Mohave County SWAT team was called out. During this incident, Braband continued to shoot at Deputies from inside his residence. After approximately 4 hours, the SWAT team was able to safely take Braband into custody.

Braband was arrested for Aggravated Assault per Domestic Violence, Misconduct Involving Weapons per Domestic Violence, and multiple counts of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, all felonies.
