The Lake Havasu Symphonic Winds will perform its annual Christmas concert on Sunday, December 12 at 3:00 PM at the High School Performing Arts Center, located at 2675 S. Palo Verde Blvd. The concert, entitled “Sounds of the Season” will present a variety of new and traditional pieces
to put the audience in the holiday mood.

Musical selections will include “First Noel”; “Celtic Carol”; “A Mad Russian’s Christmas”; and more. And, for the first time in several years, the band will be joined by members of the Lake Havasu Community Choir for a special performance of “Christmas on Broadway”. In what has now become a tradition, the band will once again perform the classic, “Twas the Night Before Christmas”; featuring a narration of the story by a local community figure.

This year’s narrator will be Mr. Gordy Hall, the newly appointed Principal of Thunderbolt Middle School.  Mr. Hall was born and raised here in Lake Havasu City, and has served for 13 years in other locales as an educator as a Science/Math Teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal and Principal. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Master’s degree in Education from Northern Arizona University.

In a recent interview, Mr. Hall expressed his joy at being back home in Havasu, with his wife, Ashley and two children, where he can continue and help foster the high educational standards of Thunderbolt Middle School. Concert admission is $12.00 per person. Tickets, including season tickets, are available at the Band’s new website,; Advance tickets are available at River City Music, 2164 McCulloch Blvd, Suite B, or at Sound Bank Electronics at 1931 McCulloch Blvd.

Remaining tickets may be purchased at the box office 45 minutes prior to the concert. Advanced purchase is highly recommended due to expected demand. As always, students with ID and children with an adult are admitted free. The Winds, Havasu’s Community concert band, has been entertaining enthusiastic audiences in the area since 1998 and is hailed as one of the finest music ensembles in Mohave County and surrounding areas.

The band’s all-volunteer group of musicians and their conductor, Kimberly Lehmann always strive for the highest level of musical excellence as they deliver lively and fun- filled performances for every taste. More information about the Winds, including upcoming concerts, may be obtained at:
