Bullhead, AZ – Shopping at the Boys and Girls Club Thrift Stores provides a completely unique treasure-hunting experience. Once you step into one of the Club’s thrift stores located in Bullhead City, Fort Mohave, and Laughlin, it’s easy to see why. The stores boast a full array of clothing, collectibles, household items, and furniture. More than just saving money, thrifting at the Club’s stores has one HUGE added benefit: 100% of all proceeds stay right here in our community!……

The Club’s thrift stores do much to support their local communities. In addition to the innumerable contributions to the Club’s operation and mission, over $2,500 worth of warm clothes and shoes have been donated for the homeless through an ongoing partnership with Catholic Charities; annually, the stores donate $1,600 in gift certificates to the Colorado River Women’s Council for their Christmas party for homeless kids; and over $140,000 in proceeds were used to support the construction of a new Fort Mohave Club on La Riqueza Rd.

The Club’s Thrift Stores also provide a strong family-like environment to each of its staff and volunteers. While many of the store employees are seniors who are looking for part-time work to supplement their social security, all of the stores work with volunteers of all ages, for fun as well as community service hours. Volunteers alone provided over 5,000 hours of their time in 2022! Caprice, who volunteers, says, “Working at the store with the volunteers and employees is fun and rewarding!” and thrift store associate Lanette says, “Working for the Club’s thrift store is gratifying, knowing that everything we do goes out to support the children of the community.”

“Overall, we are proud of our thrift stores; 100% of the proceeds stay local and have allowed us to grow and provide services to more youth. It’s great to see that the impact of the stores can be felt across generations and in all of our communities,” says Autumn, CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Colorado River. Donations of quality household items, furniture, and clothing are crucial for the stores. “We call the Boys & Girls Club thrift stores often. Just recently, a buyer didn’t want the furniture and appliances that were conveyed with their home purchase, so we were able to make one call and have the thrift store pick everything up to donate it all to the Club. The buyer was thrilled that the items went to a good cause and that they didn’t have to hassle with hauling them away. It’s a win-win!” John Haller, Broker/Owner of Premier Executives Real Estate
