Detectives with the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, a component of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET), have been conducting an investigation into allegations of cocaine distribution throughout Lake Havasu City.

On August 21, 2026, at approximately 1:24 p.m., detectives were conducting traffic enforcement near Palo Verde Boulevard North and Highway 95 when they attempted to stop a vehicle linked to an ongoing investigation after observing a civil traffic violation. The driver failed to yield to the emergency lights and siren, prompting a pursuit that lasted for approximately three miles and concluded in the 1300 block of London Bridge Road. The driver then entered the parking area at Mesquite Bay South, where detectives observed him discard two brick-shaped packages from the passenger-side window. The vehicle made a U-turn and attempted to flee the area but subsequently struck a detective’s patrol vehicle, rendering further escape impossible. The driver was taken into custody without further incident, and no injuries were reported during the collision.

The driver was identified as 41-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Jeremy Bowers. Detectives recovered the discarded packages, which contained a white, powdery substance that field-tested positive for cocaine. The total weight of the substance was approximately two kilograms, with an estimated street value of $200,000.

Bowers has been charged with Transportation of Narcotic Drugs (a Class 2 felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (a Class 6 felony), Unlawful Flight from a Pursuing Law Enforcement Vehicle (a Class 5 felony), Criminal Damage (a Class 1 misdemeanor), Tampering with Physical Evidence (a Class 6 felony), and Resisting Arrest (a Class 1 misdemeanor). During his initial court appearance, Bowers was issued a $100,000 cash-only bond and was subsequently transported to the Mohave County Detention Facility.
