TRUTH IN TAXATION INFORMATION
MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ. Mohave County has prepared its truth in taxation information for the fiscal year 2020-2021 budget in compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes §42-17107.
According to the 2020 levy limit referenced by the Arizona Department of Revenue Property Tax Oversight Commission (PTOC), Mohave County’s maximum allowable primary property tax rate is $2.4453 and the truth in taxation rate is $1.8949. The County is proposing a rate of $1.9496 which is $0.0547 higher than the truth in taxation rate and $0.4957 less than the maximum allowable rate. The proposed levy for fiscal year 2020-2021 is $39,200,478 which is an increase of $1,073,918 or 2.9% above the PTOC truth in taxation amount. This amount is $10,805,936 less than the maximum allowable levy limit.
The proposed tax increase will cause Mohave County’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $194.96. Without the proposed tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed on a $100,000 home would have been $189.49. The increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction and is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.
The County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2020-2021 budget, tax rates and levies on Monday, August 3, 2020 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Mohave County Administration Building, 700 W. Beale Street, Kingman, Arizona. All interested citizens are invited to attend.
Mohave County Board of Supervisor meetings are open to the public and can be viewed live through the County’s website at www.mohavecounty.us. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, public attending in person must social distance and follow CDC guidelines and face masks are required to be worn in Mohave County buildings. MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ. Mohave County Flood Control District has prepared its truth in taxation information for the fiscal year 2020-2021 budget in compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 48-254.
According to the 2020 levy limit referenced by the Arizona Department of Revenue Property Tax Oversight Commission (PTOC), Mohave County Flood Control’s truth in taxation rate is $0.4834. Mohave County Flood Control District is proposing a rate of $0.5000 which is $0.0166 higher than the truth in taxation rate. It is proposed to levy $8,939,551 in fiscal year 2020-2021 which is an increase of $291,113 or 3.4% above the PTOC truth in taxation amount.
The proposed tax increase will cause Mohave County’s secondary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $50.00. Without the proposed tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed on a $100,000 home would have been $48.34. The increase is exclusive of increased secondary property taxes received from new construction and is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness.

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ. Mohave County Free Library District has prepared its truth in taxation information for the fiscal year 2020-2021 budget in compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 48-254.
According to the 2020 levy limit referenced by the Arizona Department of Revenue Property Tax Oversight Commission (PTOC), Mohave County Free Library’s truth in taxation rate is $0.2640. Mohave County Free Library District is proposing a rate of $0.2716 which is $0.0076 higher than the truth in taxation rate. It is proposed to levy $5,461,043 in fiscal year 2020-2021 which is an increase of $149,210 or 2.9% above the PTOC truth in taxation amount.
The proposed tax increase will cause Mohave County’s secondary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $27.16. Without the proposed tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed on a $100,000 home would have been $26.40. The increase is exclusive of increased secondary property taxes received from new construction and is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness.
