BULLHEAD CITY–Two men were arrested late Saturday afternoon after fleeing from police officers who were investigating a weapons offense at Rotary Park.
“We got a call out of Rotary Park in reference to two subjects with a weapon, brandishing a weapon and making threats,” said Bullhead Police Sgt. Brian Schlener. “When we arrived on scene, they ran down the hill towards the river.”
Schlener said the two subjects waded through the river and exited near Lazy Harry’s Bar.
A short pursuit ensued after the two subjects exited the water. They were quickly apprehended in the area of Steiger Drive and Whitewater Way.
“At this point we aren’t sure if there really was a weapon or not, but both subjects have warrants out for their arrest so they are under arrest for those outstanding warrants,” said Schlener.
No injuries were reported at the scene. The identities of the two men arrested were not immediately released by officials.
Bullhead City Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the incident remains under investigation.
