Equine Assisted Therapy facility secures funding to mentor an additional twelve Mohave County youth in healthy behaviors and habits.

Kingman, AZ, December 19, 2021 –River Cities United Way has awarded $3000 to Kingman’s Healing Hooves (KHH) to support youth programming that utilizes an intuitive team of horses and highly trained instructors to build self-esteem, confidence, empathy, and kindness through
animal-human interactions.

The donation from United Way will have a large impact on the number of youth able to access the KHH sessions. It creates slots for an additional 12 students in Mohave County to learn more about themselves and the world around them, while enjoying positive interactions with instructional staff and the horses who make up the therapeutic team.

As the world keeps changing due to Covid circumstances, it creates a lot of mental health fatigue on children and teens,” commented KHH Director Kassie Schuerr. “This award from the United Way gives a dozen more youth in our community a chance to put these worries aside for a while and enjoy a safe place that has consistent structure for behavior, positive attitude and learning.”

KHH thanks the River Cities United Way for recognizing the benefits offered to youth through equine therapy and safe horsemanship skill building.
