UNLAWFUL FLIGHT- MOHAVE VALLEY

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Erik Anthony Arenas, 25 of Bullhead City, for felony Unlawful Flight from Law Enforcement. On Friday (9/18) at approximately 11:20 AM, deputies observed a white sedan travelling approximately 90 MPH on Highway 95 in Mohave Valley. Deputies activated their lights and sirens and attempted to catch up to the vehicle. Deputies observed the vehicle weaving in and out of different lanes of travel to pass other vehicles. The deputy reached speeds of over 100 MPH, however was not getting any closer to the vehicle. The deputy terminated the pursuit for community safety, and observed the vehicle enter into a parking lot of a business in the 5200 block of Highway 95, drive through the parking lot, then exit the business by heading North on Highway 95.

An Attempt to Locate was sent to neighboring agencies. A short time later, dispatch received a phone call from a citizen that had observed the
same vehicle driving erratically near the Bullhead City limits and almost strike a bicyclist near the Parkway. The citizen was able to retrieve the license plate of the vehicle. A Bullhead City Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at a business in the 1900 block of Highway 95 and made contact with the driver, identified as Arenas. Deputies responded to the scene and placed Arenas into custody for the incident. When asked, Arenas denied being involved in the chase. Erik Anthony Arenas was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility without incident.
