Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are continuing their investigation into a homicide that occurred on Friday (8/2) in Golden Valley. At approximately 12:43 AM, dispatch received a call of a male subject who had been shot at a residence in the 3800 block of Diabase Dr. Deputies arrived on scene and located the deceased victim, identified as David Richard Roberts Jr., deceased on the property. A suspect was identified as Kenneth Joseph Carter and a temporary felony warrant was issued. Detectives were also attempting to locate the suspect’s father, Kenneth Allen Carter, for questioning related to the incident.

At approximately 4 PM on Friday (8/6), detectives received information that both suspects were at a
business in the 5400 block of Highway 68 and wanted to turn themselves into law enforcement. Deputies
and Detectives responded to the location and transported the men for interviews. At the conclusion of the interviews, both men were arrested and transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility without
incident.

Kenneth Joseph Carter, 36, was arrested for 1st Degree Murder. Kenneth Allen Carter, 58, was arrested for 1st Degree Hindering Prosecution. This investigation is ongoing.
