Vaccine Doses Arrive
Bad Weather Prevented Vaccinations Delivery
County Back on Track
MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (February 24, 2021) — Bad weather conditions in much of the country prevented the delivery of the Moderna vaccine to Mohave County last week. It forced the cancellation of many appointments and stopped new ones from occurring.
There’s good news this week as both last week’s allocation and the allotment for this week have arrived. Now is the time for those who are seeking a vaccination to follow up with one of the county’s providers and make a new appointment. Again, due to limited vaccine availability and a high demand, patience and persistence are required to complete that necessary first step of making an appointment with one of the providers.
The providers list, phone numbers and website can be reached by going to: https://www.mohavecounty.us/ContentPage.aspx?id=127&cid=1444&page=2&rid=2230
Also, the County’s Call Center can be reached at 928-753-8665 for additional help in getting an appointment.
Only those in the 1A and 1B sub-categories Protected Services Occupations; Anyone 65 Years & Older and Educators/Child Care Workers are eligible for a vaccination at this time.
Mohave County Health Director Denise Burley said, “We’re doing our best to make the vaccination process go as smoothly as possible. However, until our allotted weekly doses increase, we are limited. We’re thankful for the providers who are on board and we have high expectations that things will improve.” She added, “as I’ve mentioned before, we always strive to increase the percentage of vaccine administered in our county and have established protocols in place to ensure providers only order what can be utilized within seven days.”
