On May 24th at approx. 0330 hrs, Northern Arizona Fire District (NAFD) responded to the 2800
block of Packard Ave. for a reported gas leak. Upon arrival, a car was found crashed into a fence
with a gas meter sheared off nearby. An additional NAFD engine was requested down the street
for a medical incident which was related to the vehicle crash. Initial reports indicated that the
vehicle struck numerous objects on the side of the residential street and eventually came to a stop
after the driver was impaled by a chain link fence. The driver was able to exit the vehicle and
attempted to flee the scene. MCSO apprehended the subject at the intersection of Bank St. and
Packard Ave. who was later tased. The subject was transported to KRMC with injuries. The
incident is still under investigation.
