Veteran Nonprofit to Team with Toby Keith and Present All-Terrain, Tracked Wheelchair to Wounded Veteran at Laughlin Show

WHERE: Laughlin Event Center


WHAT: Toby Keith and The Independence Fund, a national nonprofit assisting wounded Veterans, will present wounded U.S. Army Veteran Matthew White with an all-terrain, tracked wheelchair.


VET BIO: Sergeant Matthew White joined the U.S. Army in 2006 as an Infantryman and was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division in Ft. Bragg, NC. While deployed to Iraq in 2010, he was injured by an IED, resulting in the amputation of one leg. Matthew spent a year and a half in recovery at Walter Reed. He medically retired in 2011. He is a native of Columbus, OH and currently resides in Dumfries, VA and works as the Center Manager at the USO Warrior & Family Center at Ft. Belvoir. He holds a Interdisciplinary Studies from The Catholic University of America and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
