Wildland fire assignment

Battalion Chief Marvin McCabe set out early this morning (August 22) heading to the Wildland Buck fire, which is currently burning near Peach Springs, AZ.   BCFD Firefighters Wes Green, Mario Gutierrez, and Cesar Guzman joined Chief McCabe. The length of their assignment is unknown at this time. The blaze had burned an estimated 1,000 acres as of this morning’s report.

Again, we would like to remind members of the public that one of the most important things you can do to help during the 2020 fire year is to do your part to prevent human-caused fires. Fewer human-caused fires will not only help communities but will also preserve firefighting resources.

Fire is everyone’s fight!
