BULLHEAD CITY, AZ. –– The Bullhead City Recreation Division is excited to announce their winter Youth Basketball League (YBL). Open to both boys and girls, the league is broken into three age divisions for ages 5 to 12. Division one is for players 5 to 7 years old in Kindergarten and 1st grade, division two is for players 7 to 8 years old in 2nd and 3rd grade and division three is for players 9 to12 years old in 4th to 6th grades.

Parents interested in registering their children for the league an do so at on the Parks and Recreation page; then click the sports button and then the basketball link. Registration is $50 per player and the deadline is November 30, 2020. Parents will need to create an account on the Parks and Recreation website. This account can be used for other recreation programs and park reservations. Registration forms can also be obtained at City Hall for those who prefer to register in person. The league is in need of coaches. Parents and others with basketball experience are encouraged to volunteer by downloading the volunteer application online at or completing the forms at City Hall.

YBL games will be hosted by two local gyms, the Boys & Girls Club of the Colorado River and at Suddenlink Community Center. The league will be led by the YBL Commissioner, Patrick McCormick and the City of Bullhead.

The City will be enforcing COVID-19 safety guidelines during the youth basketball league season. The league will limit the number of players to a team to ensure smaller teams. Coaches, players and spectators will have their temperatures checked as they enter the gym. Spectators will be asked to social distance and stay with their families and keep 6ft apart from others. Players must have clearly marked recognizable, individual water containers to avoid team sharing. Players and coaches should use common sense health practices like staying home if you are feeling ill.

The City is anticipating over 30 teams in the league and is currently seeking team sponsors, league sponsors and a uniform sponsor. Team sponsorships are $300 and can be purchased by contacting Jackie Walker, Sponsorship Coordinator at (928) 763-9400 or [email protected].
