Academy Class of 2023
Congratulations to the P.A.C.T. (Police and Citizens Together) Academy Class of 2023, who graduated from our 8-month program! The graduation ceremony started off with a ‘bang’ from a live demonstration from our SWAT team.
Our Citizens’ Police Academy provides community members with a greater understanding of the police department and its operations through class lectures as well as hands-on experiences.
The graduates completed a ride-along with a patrol officer and learned about topics such as forensics, K-9, bomb, Taser, criminal investigations, gangs, 9-1-1 dispatch, narcotics and took a trip to the shooting range.
Special thanks to A&G towing for providing us a “suspect” vehicle for the SWAT demonstration!
Applications for the next P.A.C.T. Academy will be available at the BHCPD lobby, 1255 Marina Blvd, from November 1st – 30th, 2023.
The 2024 Citizens’ Police Academy will be held one night a month at no cost to participants. Enrollment is limited.
