Airport Hangar Fire

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Augus 25, 2023 a fire in an aircraft hangar was reported by a bystander at the Lake Havasu City Airport. The first arriving fire company stationed at the Airport reported smoke coming from a large door on a hangar. After gaining entry, a working fire was visible in theback of the hangar which did have an aircraft inside. The hangar is in an area that has multiple hangars within closeproximity. The fire did extend from the original hangar to an adjacent hangar.

Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, one Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting vehicle and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in 29 minutes. There were no occupants in the hangars at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. CERT responded to the fire with six personnel to assist with rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional 3 hours conducting fire investigation and salvage operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
