Arizona’s Bureau of Land Management Partners with Dolan Springs Trails Committee for Community Cleanup and Trail Maintenance Event on September 29th

Kingman, AZ – The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Kingman Field Office and the Dolan Springs Trails Committee are jointly organizing a community cleanup and trail maintenance event set to take place in the Mt. Tipton area on Saturday, September 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The BLM Kingman Field Office oversees 2.4 million acres of public land in northwestern Arizona, located south and east of the Colorado River. Known for the historic Route 66 Back Country Byway and the largest wild burro population in the country, found in the Black Mountains, the office’s area of responsibility includes parts of the Sonoran, Mohave, and Great Basin Deserts.

Interested community members, volunteers, and nature enthusiasts are invited to join in this trail maintenance day. Participants should be ready to access work sites on primitive roads or will otherwise be transported by BLM staff to the project locations.

Volunteers are advised to wear closed-toe shoes, dress in layers, and bring a wide-brimmed hat, sunblock, a snack, and ample water. The BLM will provide tools, gloves, and extra water for the event.

For more details or to learn how you can get involved in this community effort, please contact Matthew Driscoll, Outdoor Recreation Planner at mdriscoll@blm.gov.
