FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bullhead City, AZ – October 10, 2024

The City of Bullhead City is happy to announce the partnership with Mohave County, the Bullhead City Fire Department, Republic Services, and Nevada State Recycling for a community-wide recycling and waste disposal event. The event will take place on Saturday, October 19, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m simultaneously in the parking lots of Gary Keith Park and the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division.

Residents of Mohave County are encouraged to participate in this unique event to dispose of unwanted electronics, aluminum cans, bulky items, and household hazardous waste. Unique to this year’s event, residential bulky item drop-off and aluminum can recycling will be accepted for the first time.

“We love the idea of having one day a year that makes it very easy for the community to dispose of difficult items correctly,” said City Manager, Toby Cotter. “This event helps keep our community clean, keeps electronics out of the landfill and provides the community with a way to dispose of hazardous materials that aren’t allowed in the trash.”

Commercial bulky items will not be accepted. All residents who drop off aluminum cans will directly benefit a local charitable organization, Live Love Barc, who uses the revenue to support the Bullhead City Animal Shelter’s spay and neuter program.

Nevada State Recycling will manage the electronic waste recycling services and transport the items to their Las Vegas, Nevada facility to be recycled. Household hazardous waste items will be under the responsibility of Mohave County Environmental Quality and the Bullhead City Fire Department who will not accept commercial waste, industrial waste, explosives, ammunition, and documents for shredding.

Cotter encourages residents, “We’ll be open for 5 hours, so there’s plenty of time throughout the event to bring your large items, electronic items, hazardous waste, or aluminum cans to the park.”
