CITY-WIDE MAINTENANCE AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS WEEK OF OCTOBER 22
BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – The city of Bullhead City staff and contractors will be working on several projects throughout our city during the week of October 22 that will affect traffic and local amenities in significant ways.
Laughlin Ranch Blvd’s eastbound lane will be closed from Monday, October 21 at 5:00 a.m. to Thursday, October 21 at 5:00 p.m. while crews install an additional lane with curbing adjacent to the ongoing development south of the road. Eastbound traffic will be detoured south to Silvercreek Rd and north to Bullhead Parkway.
Select intersections of the Bullhead Parkway will undergo slurry sealing as part of the City Street Maintenance Program (CSMP) of 2024-2025. Due to extreme temperatures, this work will be performed during the evening hours.
McCormick Construction will continue installing a raised median with street lights along the Bullhead Parkway between Silvercreek Rd and Laredo Dr. The project, administered by The Arizona Department of Transportation, is a grant-funded Highway Safety Improvement Project (HSIP).
City Park Maintenance Crews have begun reseeding sports fields at Rotary Park. The fields will become dormant as the Bermuda grass goes into dormancy, allowing the winter grass seed to sprout.
The Optimum Community Center will be closed as the facility undergoes construction for an expanded parking lot.
Additional projects include the expansion of the Bullhead Senior Enrichment Center, rehabilitation of lift station 18-1, asphalt and concrete repairs following recent water line repairs and construction of a new ATV/UTV parking lot.
The former Mohave Valley Daily News building will also be receiving a makeover, transforming into the new Bullhead Animal Resource Center. This new facility will feature an expanded capacity, a veterinary clinic, a pet washing station, and a pet crematorium.
Lastly, City Street Maintenance crews will work on sweeping and crack-sealing streets in preparation for slurry maintenance, and Bullhead City Utilities will work on replacing a motor and pump for a well, repairing intersections, cleaning sewer lines, and constructing a new headworks and aeration basin at the wastewater treatment plant.
As these projects take place, the city asks residents to use caution while traveling through the work zones and to obey all posted signage and traffic control devices. Questions about ongoing projects throughout the city can be directed to Public Information Officer, Mackenzie Covert, mcovert@bullheadcityaz.gov or (928) 763-0182.
For complete details and updates on these projects refer to bullheadcity.com. Citizens are encouraged to use the Bullhead City Direct app to report issues around the city directly to City Staff.
