BULLHEAD CITY, Arizona, Nov. 26, 2025 – Bullhead City staff, City contractors, and utility companies within city limits will work on a series of projects during the week of December 1. The planned improvements include a range of street maintenance, traffic facility updates, utility infrastructure enhancements, and community amenity projects.

Bullhead City Public Works crews will be working along the median of Bullhead Parkway between the southern intersection of Highway 95 and Adobe Road to stabilize the center median. Under contract with the City, Perco Rock will construct the right-hand turn lanes on Highway 95 at Laughlin Ranch Blvd, and McCormick Construction will continue building a new southbound right-hand turn lane along Highway 95 at Mohave Dr.

A new prefabricated bathroom has been placed at the ATV/UTV trailhead on Silvercreek Rd and awaits connection to power prior to opening to the public. Bullhead City Street Maintenance crews will also slurry seal select streets in the Riviera area as part of the 2025-2026 City Street Maintenance Program. More information about the program and a complete list of streets scheduled for service is available at bullheadcityaz.gov/csmp.

At Bullhead City Middle School, Public Works crews will continue improving the fields and new playground, which will serve as a school field and playground during school hours and as a public park outside of school hours. Contractors working on behalf of Bullhead City Utilities will complete various asphalt and concrete repairs around the City at locations where recent water line repairs were made.

Additionally, Precise Builders is remodeling the former Mohave Valley Daily News building into the Bullhead Animal Resource Center, a facility expected to open in the coming winter. Once completed, the new center will feature expanded capacity, a veterinary clinic, a dog washing station, a pet crematorium, and more. In conjunction with this project, Public Works crews are making enhancements outside of the future facility by installing a fence around the outdoor enrichment area for the animals.

Kay Constructors LLC, contracted by Bullhead City Utilities, is building a new headworks and aeration basin at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant. The project will improve the city’s ability to reclaim water and protect the facility’s infrastructure against damage from foreign materials. City Utilities will also install new fire hydrants and iHydrants at various locations, a project that may involve planned outages for a few hours in affected areas. This initiative replaces the City’s oldest and least functional hydrants with new intelligent models that monitor water infrastructure and facilitate faster responses to system leaks.

On Riverview Drive, Kay Constructors is installing well 20-1 on the northern side between Highway 95 and Lakeside Drive. Following pressure testing, Riverview Drive and Kaibab Drive will be repaved, with Riverview Drive remaining open with metal plates covering the trench until work is complete. A contractor is also installing footings for a shade structure between the pickleball courts at Rotary Park, a project partially funded by the Bullhead City Pickleball Club and expected to be completed in January.

The City reminds the public to only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. All other waste products should be disposed of through alternative means to avoid damage to the city’s infrastructure. Motorists are urged to exercise caution when traveling through City work zones and to obey posted signage and traffic control devices.

Residents are encouraged to use the Bullhead City Direct app, available for Android and iOS devices, to report any issues directly to City Staff. Additional information about the app can be found at bullheadcity.com/BullheadCityDirect.
