City of Bullhead City Thanks Public Works Team, Contractors, and Community Following Severe Storms and Flooding

Bullhead City, Arizona, November 6, 2026 – The City of Bullhead City extends its deepest gratitude to the Public Works Department, private contractors, and the entire community following the intense storms and flooding that struck the city last weekend.

Last Friday, more than two inches of rain fell within an hour, producing widespread flash flooding across Bullhead City. This impacted major roadways including Riverview Drive, Marina Boulevard, Hancock Road, Miracle Mile, River Garden Drive, Silver Creek Road, Highway 95, Laughlin Ranch, and many residential neighborhoods. Floodwaters deposited significant amounts of debris, mud, rocks, and sediment, damaging infrastructure, restricting access, and affecting homes and businesses.

In response, city officials directed an immediate effort from Public Works and requested assistance from private contractors. The contractors, including Premier Backhoe, Redmond Construction, Burright Construction, National Construction, McCormick Construction, Grading Concepts, CBI Landscaping, and Lopez Construction, responded rapidly to aid in recovery efforts. Support was also received from Mohave County Public Works and the Arizona Department of Transportation.

“While the storms tested our community, the response has been nothing short of remarkable,” City Manager Toby Cotter said. “Our Public Works team and the City’s private contractors stepped up and worked tirelessly around the clock to clear debris, restore access, and begin the recovery process. Their dedication has been outstanding.”

Due to the efforts of these teams, many main streets were open and accessible just hours after the storms. “We are especially grateful to our Public Works employees and the private contractors who assisted with emergency response and cleanup operations starting on Friday evening and working throughout the weekend,” Cotter said. “Their professionalism, long hours, and commitment under difficult conditions made a critical difference for residents and businesses.”

The City also thanks the residents of Bullhead City for their patience and understanding as cleanup and recovery efforts continue. Several streets and river access points remain under active work as crews remove debris and make temporary and permanent repairs. The cleanup in some of the river access points will take at least a month.

“Our community’s cooperation and resilience have been essential,” Cotter said. “Thank you for allowing our teams the space and time needed to restore our city safely and efficiently.”

Recovery operations remain ongoing. Residents are encouraged to continue exercising caution in affected areas and report any remaining hazards to the City. The City of Bullhead City remains committed to completing a thorough recovery and coordinating with Mohave County and state partners as damage assessments progress.
