BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., August 20, 2024 – The City of Bullhead City will extend its free sandbag distribution program until Thursday, August 22, to aid residents in protecting their properties during the monsoon season. The announcement came from Bullhead City Manager Toby Cotter, who stated that sand is still available for residents who have yet to acquire their provision.

“While we urge our residents to prepare as soon as possible for the monsoonal weather period, we are dedicated to responding to the needs of our community members. We will continue to provide the sand for a few more days for those who still need it,” said Cotter.

The free sandbags are allocated to local households, with a limit of ten per household. The sand will be available for pickup every day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., until August 22, at Bullhead City’s Rotary Park. The pickup location is under the large Ramada, situated just north of Firebird Field, with staff on-site each day for assistance.

City Manager Cotter appealed to residents to make the most of this extension. “We hope everyone who needs to protect their property takes advantage of the assistance before the weather reports deem it necessary. Monsoonal weather can be unpredictable, and we need to be proactive,” he said.

For more information on the free sandbag program, members of the community are advised to visit the city’s website or call the office at (928) 763-0182.
