BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – May 12, 2026
Bullhead City Police arrested Daniel David Deluna, 55, of Bullhead City, for aiming a laser device at an aircraft, possession of dangerous drugs, and driving on a suspended driver’s license.
On May 9 at about 11 p.m., police were contacted by a medical helicopter crew regarding a powerful green laser directed at their aircraft while in flight. The crew reported repeated laser activity in the area of Arcadia Boulevard and Escalera Drive. They were able to visually identify the suspect’s vehicle and provided officers with real-time updates regarding its location and direction of travel.
Responding officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop in the 1700 block of Highway 95, where Deluna was located. During the stop, officers discovered that he was in possession of the laser device. Additionally, a usable amount of methamphetamine was found in his pocket. Deluna was subsequently arrested and booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
Safety Reminder: Pointing a laser at an aircraft is illegal and extremely dangerous. Lasers can distract or temporarily blind pilots, putting crews and people on the ground at risk. This is especially dangerous for medical helicopters and low-flying aircraft at night. The Bullhead City Police Department emphasizes that aiming a laser at an aircraft is a federal crime and can lead to serious penalties.
