MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (June 28 ,2024) – The Mohave County Logic and Accuracy Test was conducted by the county’s Elections Department staff on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 9:00am. The staff marked the test ballots with a random number of votes, then tallied and validated the number of votes prior to the Logic and Accuracy Test.

During the Logic and Accuracy Test, the ballots were tabulated using the three high speed scanners that will be used during the upcoming July 30, 2024, Primary Election. The results were then transferred to the Election Management System, and a report was printed to verify the number of votes on the test ballots. The results from the tabulators matched the staff’s hand tallied results 100% correctly.

The second Logic and Accuracy Test was conducted by the Arizona Secretary of State’s office in the afternoon on the same day (Thursday, June 27, 2024.) The Secretary of State’s staff brought their own test ballots, which they marked and tested prior to arriving in Mohave County.

Mohave County did not know in advance how many ballots the Secretary of State would bring to be tabulated or the results of those test ballots. Mohave County Elections staff ran the state’s test ballots through the three high speed scanners and transferred the results to the Election Management System. There was a total of 795 ballots that were tabulated for this test. The results from the Secretary of State’s office were then unsealed and compared to the results from the three Mohave County tabulators. The results also matched 100% correctly.

These tests were conducted in a public forum and all interested parties were encouraged to observe and participate in the validation of the results. Attendance from the public, press, candidates, and political parties was unprecedented, and the Elections staff answered any questions from the audience about the election process. Again, Arizona’s Primary Election is July 30, 2024.
