On Wednesday, August 23rd, at about 6:50am, the Kingman Police Department responded to the 2600blk of Detroit Ave, in front of Manzanita Elementary School, regarding the report of a vehicle running over several people.  Officers arrived and located four (4) people that had received minor injuries when struck by a vehicle.   All were ultimately treated and release from Kingman Regional Medical Center with minor injuries (scraps and abrasions).  Initial reports indicated that the driver of the vehicle had fled the location.  Officers located the suspect and vehicle just west of the crash location.  He was identified as a 28-year-old Kingman man.   Investigators determined that, after dropping off his child at the school, the driver was turning into a dirt parking lot west of the school, when he collided into the group.  Injured was a 33-year-old Kingman woman, her 11-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter who were walking together; and a 9-year-old boy riding a scooter.  Investigators suspect impairment was involved.  The driver was released with pending criminal charges. The investigation is ongoing.
