The Bullhead City Police Department would like to remind residents about 988. This easy-to-remember number is a direct connection to free, confidential, 24/7 support for anyone experiencing mental health-related distress.

988 was launched last month as a single source for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, whether is it thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. No matter where you live in the United States, you can reach a trained and compassionate crisis counselor who can help.

People can call or text 988 for themselves or if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support. You can also chat at 988lifeline.org.

The Bullhead City Police Department is currently in the process of implementing a local crisis response team called *BACCUP. The BACCUP program is intended to assist those in need of services in our community, such as mental health and distress, medical support and homelessness.

The Police Department is now hiring a BACCUP Team Leader. To apply or for more information: Job Opportunities | CAREER OPPORTUNITIES (governmentjobs.com) or go to www.bullheadcity.com/jobs . For questions about the BACCUP Team or other local resources, please contact the Bullhead City Police Department’s Community Services Officer Lorrie Duggins at lduggins@bullheadcityaz.gov or call (928) 763-9200 ext. 8204.
