Bullhead Fire – On Sunday morning (07-09-23) at approximately 5:15 A.M., Our crews responded to a reported structure fire on the 400 block of Riverfront Dr. It was initially reported to dispatch that one subject was possibly still inside the residence. Upon arrival, crews quickly confirmed that no one was inside of the home and began a defensive fire attack as Battalion Chief M. McCabe directed all other incoming units. Firefighters worked vigorously to keep the fire from spreading to other nearby homes.
Unfortunately, there was a complete roof collapse on the mobile home, and the structure is a complete loss. Upon further investigation, fire investigator J. Jones learned that multiple portable AC units were possibly running throughout the home, as the primary unit was waiting for service. No injuries were reported during this incident, and the fire’s cause remains under investigation.
We would like to remind all citizens that overloaded electrical outlets, or circuits that supply power to several outlets, are a major cause of residential fires. Overloaded outlets and circuits carry too much electricity, generating undetectable heat. The heat causes wear on the internal wiring system and can ignite a fire.
