Independence Day celebrations are just a few of the exciting things hapenning in Kingman, Arizona. But after all, this is The Heart of Historic Route 66!

July 4 – Firecracker 5K Race – 4th of July Firecracker 5K Run/Walk. $25 registration fee. Start at Kingman Veterans Villas. Hosted by the Kingman Area Veterans Association. 6am to 8am. Reach out to Maggie Stanley for more information at 562.704.9175 

July 4 – 4th of July Group Hike – Join park staff on a guided hike and get your 4th of July holiday started off on the right foot… or left foot (your choice). Thursday, July 4th, @ 7:30am – meet at the Main Trailhead. Approximately 3-5 miles of hiking (potato patch loop). Day-Use fee applies. 

July 4 – Freedom Bash – Join us on the 4th to Celebrate our Freedom! Potluck starts at 2pm. We’ll supply Burgers, Hot dogs, & Dessert. Domestic Drink specials all day! The Boys of Valle Vista (Rick Simpson, John Steele, John Westholder, & Dave Romero) will be entertaining us from 3pm to 6pm. Chelsea Rose opening for them at 2pm with a mix of country and rock on her ukulele. Cornhole Tournament starting at 6:30 pm. Sign up with the bartender. Bring your lawn chairs to stay and watch the Valle Vista Fireworks on our Backyard Party-O! Located at 9321 E Hwy 66. 

July 4 – Fireworks Show – The City of Kingman is sponsoring fireworks at 9:15pm for an Independence Day celebration taking place at the Mohave County Fairgrounds. Fireworks can also be seen from Firefighter Memorial Park, Centennial Park, and other places around the city. For more information regarding the Red, White, and Boom festivities at the County Fairgrounds call 928.753.2600. Consumer fireworks are not permissible within the Kingman City Limits, per Kingman City Code 7-302(a). Please, celebrate responsibly and leave the show to the professionals.

 July 5 – First Friday – Party in the USA! Head to Downtown Kingman at 6:30pm this Friday for a Block Party! Roller skating, cornhole tourney, live music, games, bounce houses, and so much more. Several shops will be open late. Located on Beale St & Andy Devine in historic Downtown Kingman. 

July 6, 13, 20 – Kingman’s Market in the Park – Join us for Kingman’s Market in the Park! Located at Lewis Kingman Park, 2201 E Andy Devine Ave. Here you’ll find an array of products including baked goods, local produce, clothing, hand-made arts & crafts, and so much more! 8am to 12pm. 

July 6, 13, 20 – Kingman Farmers Market at Thunder-Rode – We have been providing our community with fresh, local seasonal produce and supporting Kingman’s local artists and craftspeople through every season for several years. We also support our local bands who are known to entertain the market crowds. The Kingman Farmers Market, located in the Thunder-Rode Event Center, 102 E Beale St. The Kingman Farmers Market will take place every Saturday in the Thunder-Rode Event Center as long as weather is permitting. Summer hours are 8am-Noon.

July 7 – Summer Arts & Crafts Fair – Hualapai Mountain Parks Summer Arts and Crafts Fair. Come enjoy the best summer weather while you shop for local arts and crafts. Admission is free. 9am to 3pm. 

July 11 – 46th Annual Mighty Mud Mania – The 46th Annual Mighty Mud Mania sponsored by the City of Kingman will be held at Firefighter’s Memorial Park. Mud Mania is an annual event that is enjoyed by all each year and is open to anyone wanting to take part in this annual summer ritual which signals the start of the upcoming school season. Firefighter’s Memorial Park will be the scene of the crime as nearly 600 brave souls will slip and slosh their way to a dirty and gritty ending while trying to win the trophy of fastest mud runner in their age division. Boys and girls compete separately to see who can navigate the obstacle course the fastest. The champion and runner-up in each age division is awarded a Mud Mania t-shirt and the champion will also receive a Mud Mania Trophy. Age divisions are divided into 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14, 15-17, 18-34, and the senior division of 35 & older. It’s all for fun and a great way to spend a day in the park. Participants will also have the opportunity to get clean by stepping into the friendly Haz-Mat shower after their run. Event t-shirts will be sold for $15-$17 to anyone interested in showing their muddiness. It’s gonna be dirty and it’s gonna be fun, so we’ll see you at the big event! Event starts at 10am. Located at 2001 Detroit Ave.

July 12 – Float-In Movie – Starting at 3pm at Centennial Park, we’ll kick off the festivities with awesome pre-float activities, featuring everything from bounce houses to refreshing drinks and delicious treats. Then, at 7pm, let’s make a splash at the Centennial Pool for a swim – and to top off the night, we’ll enjoy an epic screening of Kung Fu Panda 4! This aquatic event is a fun way to cool off during the hot summer nights while taking in a movie at the pool. Bring your tubes, air mattresses, or other floating equipment, along with your family, and be at Centennial Pool to complete the perfect summer day. Concessions will be open throughout the evening. Everyone is welcome, but plan to come early as ONLY 200 participants will be allowed in the pool for this event. Children under 4 feet or who cannot swim must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times, no exceptions! This is a free event!

July 20 – Chillin on Beale – Bring your car down for a fun time. Classics, customs, creatives, motorcycles, EVs, you name it! Cruise on down to Beale Street for music, good food, and down-home Kingman atmosphere! Free and open to the public – vehicle spots open. July’s theme is Trucks, Vans, and Wagons. 5pm – 8pm.
