Lake Havasu City Fire Department Maintains High Standards with Exceptional ISO Rating
LAKE HAVASU CITY, ARIZONA – The Lake Havasu City Fire Department has proudly sustained its exceptional ISO rating of Class 2 for the community after recently undergoing an Insurance Services Office (ISO) evaluation. The new rating will be effective from November 1, 2024.
The ratings offered by the ISO range from 1 to 10, with a Class 1 rating denoting superior public safety levels and a Class 10 rating implying no recognized safety measures. The Lake Havasu City Fire Department’s high rating is testament to its continued commitment to providing excellent fire suppression services.
ISO’s Public Protection Classification Program (PPC) is a key contributor to the underwriting process performed by insurance companies. The majority of these companies utilize PPC data as a decision-making tool when determining which businesses to underwrite, the scope of coverage to offer, and the setting of insurance rates.
Aside from its utility for insurance companies, PPC metrics serve as valuable planning, budgeting, and justification tools for fire departments aiming to improve their fire protection provisions.
City Manager Jess Knudson sharer proud sentiments regarding the high rating, saying, “We are very proud of the painstaking effort put forth by our Lake Havasu City Fire Department and Fire Chief Pete Pilafas towards achieving this exceptional rating. Our firefighting team, EMS, and prevention squads work around the clock to ensure the safety of our residents, businesses, and tourists.”
