Nighttime Airport Runway Lighting Improvements to Begin January 19

Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport (HII) is scheduled to begin a runway lighting and signage replacement project to update the airfield’s lighting and signage, improving reliability and enabling the airport to operate smoothly for years to come.

Improvements include the installation of runway lights and runway distance remaining signs, which will require temporary nighttime runway closures starting Monday, January 19, and continuing through Saturday, February 28, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting. Pilots and operators should plan accordingly, as the runway is unavailable during the scheduled nighttime closure hours. Daytime operations are not impacted.

A pre-construction briefing for airport operators and stakeholders will be held on Thursday, January 15, at 11:00 a.m., at the Airport Administration Offices. Attendance is encouraged to review project details, safety considerations, and anticipated operational impacts.

Current conditions and operational updates are being communicated to airport users throughout the project.

For additional information, please contact Airport Operations at 928-764-3330, ext. 5, or via email at airport@lhcaz.gov.
