FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FORT MOHAVE, AZ – On Wednesday, September 3, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Officers responded to a veterinarian office in Fort Mohave after learning that a 2-year-old Pitbull-Terrier mix under the clinic’s care had tested positive for methamphetamine toxicity. The dog suffered internal injuries from the drug toxicity and, as a result, had to be euthanized. Officers were advised that the dog had been brought in for treatment by two individuals, identified as Marcia Peterson (40) and Trevor Berry (35).

The investigation expanded on Thursday, September 4, when deputies visited a residence in the 2200 block of Flathead Drive in an attempt to contact the owners. At the scene, deputies observed that the residence was in a squalid condition, with animal feces covering the floor in one room, indicating that the dog had likely been confined for an extended period. In addition, drug paraphernalia was found in plain view.

Marcia Peterson was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Animal Cruelty, both of which are felonies. An arrest warrant has been issued for Trevor Berry for Animal Cruelty, along with additional previous warrants. Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding Trevor Berry’s whereabouts to contact the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office at 928-753-0753 and reference DR#25-033151.
