Police Beat- Kingman

** Residential Trespass **

On Monday, November 28th, at 12:50pm, the Kingman Police Department arrested Jason D. Tate, 49 of Kingman, on a misdemeanor charge of 1st Degree Trespass.  KPD was asked to assist Mohave County Probation Officers in the apprehension of Tate who was wanted for Probation Violation.  Tate, who had refused and eluded probation officers, fled on foot, ultimately entering a residence in the 100blk of Oak St.  It was learned that the home’s occupant did not know Tate and was scared when Tate entered the door.  Tate refused officer commands to exit the home.  Officers, using a drone, confirmed that Tate was in the home.  The KPD Entry Team entered the home and took Tate into custody without further incident.  Tate was ultimately booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility on his charges.


** Dangerous Drugs **

On Saturday, November 26th, at 9:00pm, the Kingman Police Department arrested Joshua P. Canon, 35 of Bullhead City, and Amie M. Montoya, 44 of Kingman, on felony charges of Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and several misdemeanor warrants issued by the Bullhead City Municipal Court.  Officers contacted both Canon and Montoya, after they had been reported to be sleeping in a vehicle that was parked in front of fuel pumps at a business in the 3200blk of Stockton Hill Rd.  Officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view.  Both were detained when it was learned that Canon and Montoya had misdemeanor warrants issued out of the Bullhead City Municipal Court.  While being taken into custody Canon and Montoya were found to be in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl pills and the associated drug paraphernalia.  Both were arrested and subsequently booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.

** Fugitive Apprehended **

On Thursday, November 24th, at about 11:00pm, the Kingman Police Department arrested Anthony J. Shetley, 38, on several felony warrants issued out of the Clermont County (OH) Sheriff’s Office for assorted criminal offenses to include Aggravated Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Weapons Offenses and Drugs.   Shetley had previously called 911 to report a medical emergency he was having.   Shetley could not provide his location.  An ambulance arrived and attempted to locate Shetley.  Officers responded to the area of Louise Ave and Running Iron St. to help search for Shetley.  Officers arrived and found that the ambulance had located Shetley.  During this time, it was learned that Shetley had warrants for his arrest out of Clermont County, Ohio.  Shetley was ultimately medically cleared and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility on a Fugitive from Justice hold awaiting extradition process.
