Hourly water releases below Davis Dam to be reduced during construction hours
Boulder City, NV – The Bureau of Reclamation announced today that it will reduce water releases from Davis Dam on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in support of construction activities on the Laughlin/Bullhead City Bridge taking place on the Colorado River downstream of the dam.
Hourly flows immediately below Davis Dam will be reduced to approximately 2,200 cubic feet per second between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm MST on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, leading to river heights that are lower than typical.
All river users should be aware that lower than normal river flows may expose or create natural hazards such as sandbars, gravel bars, unstable riverbanks, floating or submerged debris, or other unfamiliar obstacles. Access to the Colorado River below Davis Dam will be very limited and extra caution should be exercised if use of the river is planned during these times.
Planned operations may change depending on operational needs, construction delays, or environmental conditions. Daily and hourly information on releases from Reclamation’s Colorado River dams is available on Reclamation’s web site at:
